So when the news hit in early February that the event was coming back to Spring, and as the biggest show yet, I was pretty happy. Of course life had different plans and that same weekend was both my oldest son’s Prom, and my youngest Pinewood Derby council level race. So I thought there was a good chance I wouldn’t be able to attend MGC for this show. Luckily, the Prom being a Friday, and the race a Sunday, meant I could sneak in a Saturday trip to MGC, but I had to prepare for a long, and tiring weekend to do it.
To start off I had 33 NES games in my backlog, but on further review of what I had in my backlog “queue” bin, it turned out I had 34 games, as one snuck through being logged into my backlog spreadsheet. My goal for this weekend was to push through a minimum of 10 NES games, or a maximum of about 15 or nearly half the games in the backlog. Surprisingly, I got through 20 games by Sunday afternoon, but it was no easy task
I don’t think there’s anything about this game that I can say that hasn’t already been said. Great game, great colorful graphics that look good in HD, and wonderful humor. So many YouTube shows, and podcast have covered this one I don’t know what else I can say, that they haven’t. All I can do is agree this one is an unforgettable classic.
There is an old adage “History is Written by the Victors!”. It’s meant to imply that history, and how things are generally remembered, may be swayed by those who came out on top. That is unless, you dig a little… Continue Reading →
Well, it’s been one of the weeks where it’s been hard to get out of bed in the mornings for work, and even harder to stay awake through the morning hours. To say the least this weekend has been a… Continue Reading →

Well here we are, after several weeks I’m finally getting the chance to write another 8-bit Friday’s entry. It’s been a tough one since the weekends have been hectic for a number of reasons. Here we are though with a… Continue Reading →
It’s been a while since I’ve done an 8-bit Friday, and even longer since I’ve done a backlog posting. To be honest the end of 2016 left me with a large load of unplayed games, despite not buying much in… Continue Reading →
When a year draws to an end there are always two things that amaze me. One is looking back on how fast the year past, and two is looking back on how slowly the year past. I know it’s a… Continue Reading →
Everyone is going apeshit crazy about the NES Classic right now, and they pretty much have been since it was first announced a few months back. For me though, it’s something that’s fallen under my personal radar, and been mentally… Continue Reading →
Well, all I can say for this Friday is that I’m a bit shocked at both how quickly and how easily this week passed by. Of course it’s also been a big planning week, and week of working on household… Continue Reading →
Sadly, after a long and stressful week this was another weekend that was not my own, or to translate not a lot plays this weekend. With that said I have another stressful week ahead of me next week, so I’m… Continue Reading →
With the stressful Monday morning meeting I mentioned last week past, the remaining week got strange whereby the remaining stressful events seemed to fall off my calendar, sadly delaying themselves for the next week. Of course that sounds pleasant, but… Continue Reading →
So as promised at the end of Backlogs III, this weekend was the land of the Atari 2600 and 7800. Actually, all of the games this weekend are going to be played on the 7800, since it’s backward compatible with… Continue Reading →
